Beth Alexander, M.D., M.S., and Mark Ebell, M.D., M.S., both of the Department of Family Practice, have received a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation Grant of $10,000 and a second grant from Physicians Health Plan of $20,000 in support of their study, "The healthy e-mail project: A pilot project on evidence-based medical information delivered to both healthcare providers and patients." Participants in the study receive weekly email messages on topics involving common health issues. The project will evaluate whether giving patients and health care providers the same well researched, valid information is useful from the point of view of either.
